FULL MOON - High Tide, Share
15th December, 8:01 p.m., Melbourne, Victoria, Australia
Sidereal Zodiac: Mrigashirsha Nakshatra in Taurus (Virgo Pada)
CELEBRATE and express appreciation for all that we have.
WANING
Share, give back, contribute abundance.
Empty and release and let go.
Then RETREAT to restore and re-energise at New Moon.
This full moon is a perfect time to cultivate broad awareness and value our sensory capacities that enable us to hear, touch, see, taste, and smell. It is a time for emotional courage, and to hear each other and have a heart for each other's needs. It is a time for integrity, friendship, and using nourishing wisdom to create social connections and be very conscious about our daily life-experience that we are choosing and creating, individually and together. Make the time to gather, share your personal abundance, and feel grateful for all that is within you and around you to use for your wellbeing and to share with others.
MAKING IT EASIER FOR MOTHERS (and all guardians)
Southern Hemisphere Season: Summer (beginning of an important seasonal juncture).
Dosha: Increasing Pitta
Seasonal qualities: Cool-warm-hot, increasing dryness, more lightness
Predominant Taste: Increasing pungency
Balance with opposites: Moderate sweet, cool, fluid (while using seasonal foods).
Balance your individual metabolic type within the seasonal qualities and energies. Note that seasonal junctures require attention and diligence to dynamically balance observable qualities with opposites. It is good to stay close to our body, listen, feel, and pay close attention to what it is showing us, and what we are thinking and feeling. Then take necessary action for personal balance and well-being.
Food suggestions: Stir fries are good. Rice Biryani dishes. Dhal with chappatis. Vegetable and lentil casseroles with flatbread. Pasta with basil or parsley pesto. Hummus with homemade lavosh. Garden salads with light dressing of olive oil and lemon juice. Whole fruits eaten just as they are. Fresh steamed greens. Fresh raspberries. Globe artichoke cooked in water and lemon juice and served with a drizzle of olive oil as part of a meal. Steamed food. Warm salads with mixtures of seasonal vegetables and salad greens.
RECIPE
Lavosh Biscuits
Source: Annabel Langbein, "The Free Range Cook"
This is one of my teenager's requested treats! She has loved it since Grade 5 when it was a favourite at class parties. Thanks to Annabel Langbein we were inspired to make this quick and easy crispbread-come-biscuit, and it doesn't last long because the moorish flavour means that it is eaten up quickly by all those who try it. You can vary the ingredients with your preferred herbs, seeds, and spices. We have tried sesame seed, poppy seed, nigella seed, oregano, and plain.
Preheat oven to 160 degrees Celsius
Ingredients:
1 1/3 cups of Plain Flour
1 tablespoon black or white sesame seeds (optional)
1 tablespoon finely chopped oregano (optional)
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup olive oil
1 teaspoon sesame oil
Mix all of the ingredients together gently into a soft dough.
Divide into four pieces.
Roll out each quarter on a lightly floured board until very thin and transparent so you can see your fingers through it.
Cut into strips and place on baking trays.
Brush with olive oil and sprinkle lightly with salt.
Bake for approximately 15 minutes until golden brown.
Cool and store.

A MOTHER'S REFLECTIONS
Belonging
I feel that the Earth does not belong to any one of us, rather, we belong to the Earth; that each one of us is a steward and custodian of our magnificent collective home, wherever we may be on our Earth. It is important to respect longstanding knowledge-of-place with groups of people around our planet, it is important to listen, hear, discern, and understand. “Together” is a helpful word that fosters intention and action towards well-being for us all and our Mother Earth on whom we all depend.
