No matter how simple or small.
Nourish yourself and others by keeping a clean, uncluttered space where you rest and restore each day. Arrange your rooms to support your life-expression and well-being. Feed all senses through sound, texture, visual aesthetic, taste, fragrance - simply and naturally.
Buy the best quality of food that you can afford. Grow what you can, even if it is a small pot of herbs. Choose seasonal and organic at every opportunity. Prepare natural, healing, wholefood in sufficient quantity that includes all six tastes (sweet, sour, salty, pungent, bitter, astringent). Balance your digestive type with food of opposite qualities.
Keep daily connection with the beauty and wisdom of Nature by paying close attention when you cook your food. Observe the colour, texture, taste, smell. There is so much wonder available to feed your senses when you pay attention to the form and life-lines of natural food.
Sit and eat quietly with reverence and gratitude for the nourishment that is available to you. Support your digestion by chewing each mouthful well. Eat a serving that is a little less than your cupped hands put together. Give your stomach room to digest what you have chosen to feed the instrument of your body; the life-long instrument that enables you to have a sensory experience of life, that carries you through your life-time so you can express your spirit's creative energy.
It is a creative opportunity to make home a healing place for self and others, no matter how simple or small.
Some inspiration from our kitchen and garden to yours.
